This category divides the geographical areas of England in to nine Regions, into
which localities are distributed according to their respective Ceremonial Counties.
Websites with localities in more than one ceremonial county are listed in the
appropriate Region, linked from that county.
This category divides England according to the nine political Regions, used as the
constituencies for Members of the European Parliament (MEP)
(formally listed under  Parties ).
Although the future of these constituencies is uncertain, this remains the most
appropriate method of distributing websites geographically.
In the meantime within these regions other constituencies have arisen which span
ceremonial counties in more than one Region.
The first such example was  Humberside, formerly a ceremonial county between 1974
to 1996.  Although abolished then, some organisations still identify with
Humberside so it is included as an alternative linked subcategory here for guidance.

Other regions have been combined from districts or unitary authorities from more
than one ceremonial county, and where these have distinctive websites may
justify their own category alongside Humberside.
Until there are sufficient websites, please suggest these to the appropriate existing subcategory,
such as for Metro Mayors elected since 2017:
Landscape features and rivers often span more than one county or Region, and may
justify their own category linked from more than one locality in
UK Topical Science Environment  Landscapes.

No websites should be suggested directly to this category.

Please choose the most appropriate Regions subcategory instead,
following the  Guidance for England.

Very few sites will qualify for a listing in this category. If your site pertains to a particular county, borough, town or village then please follow the links down to the most specific geographic area you can find. Your site should be submitted under that category - either directly under it, or in the most appropriate topical sub-category thereof.

If your site relates to the whole (or a significant part) of the West Midlands Region, or your organisation has locations in multiple counties, then please find the most appropriate topical sub-category under ''West Midlands'' for your site, and submit it there.
