This category leads to websites for one of the smallest ceremonial counties in England,
famous for its artificial lake, Rutland Water.
Rutland has Unitary authority status, and has the lowest population of these; approaching 40,000 in 2019.
Rutland is nestled to the east of the  South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, served by the A1 trunk road from Northamptonshire,
and Eastern England from the south, past Leicestershire on the north to western boundary.
The A606, runs along the north shore of Rutland Water, by-passing the county town of  Oakham,
then serving Melton Mowbray to the north west.
The A6003 runs south from Oakham through the county to Corby, and is crossed at Uppingham by the A47 taking traffic westwards to Leicester.

Essendine is the most eastern parish and village of Rutland.
This category represents all the eastern area abutting the  South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire,
apart from  Stamford.  There the eastern village is Belmesthorpe in the parish of  Ryhall,
where the village of Ryhall is almost encircled by the River Gwash.
Pickworth is the next parish along the north boundary of Rutland with South Kesteven.

This category lists website for the Rutland civil parish of Hambleton, now in the centre of Rutland Water, and mainly flooded.
The high ground forms a penisula, accessible from one road from  Oakham.
The only village to survive is Upper Hambleton, but this category may list websites about the flooded villages of Middle Hambleton and Nether Hambleton.

The Rutland parish of Keeton is in the east, to the unitary authority boundary with the northern tip of  Northamptonshire
at the parish of Easton on the Hill, in the East Northamptonshire district.
Here the unitary authority boundary is the River Welland, and the conurbation of Geeston around the railway, separates this from village of Ketton.
Ketton is served by the A6121 which, to the north east, joins the A1.
The A1 crosses the Welland east of Tinwell.  This category also includes websites for Tinwell.
To the south west, the A6121 passes through North Luffenham, which is represented by the  Luffenham category.

The Rutland parish of Lyddington is south of  Uppingham on the A6003 to  Caldecott. The parish includes Eyebrook reservoir which forms the unitary authority boundary with Leicestershire to the west. The village of Lyddington lies to the A6003, with the Rutland parish of Thorpe by Water over Bee Hill, down to the River Welland.  Here the Welland meanders around the unitary authority boundary with Gretton and Harringworth in East Northamptonshire district.

Uppingham is a small market town in the county of Rutland in the East Midlands. It is located on the A47 between Leicester and Peterborough, about 6 miles south of the county town, Oakham. It is the second largest town in the county.
