The ceremonial county of Wiltshire consists of two unitary authority areas, governed by Wiltshire Council and Swindon Borough Council.
Wiltshire is the most eastern county of the  South West Region of England,
with  Gloucestershire to the north west,  Somerset to the west and  Dorset to the south west.
In the  South East Region of England, Hampshire is to the south and east,
West Berkshire is to the north of this on the eastern boundary
and on the east boundary of Swindon is Oxfordshire.

Aldbourne is a parish administered by Wiltshire Council, 6 miles north east of  Marlborough,
with its north western boundary with the unitary authority of  Swindon at  Liddington.
The north eastern boundary is with  Baydon.
Aldbourne village is served by the B4192 from Swindon, south east to  Chilton Foliat on the north bank of the River Kennet.

Alderbury is a village in the south of Wiltshire, bypassed by the A36, taking road traffic
from  Salisbury in the north east, to  Southampton in the south east.
The A36 also bypasses the hamlet of Shute End immediately north west of Alderbury village,
and the village of Whaddon, immediately south east.
The parish of Clarendon Park is directly north, represented by  Pitton further north west.
The western parish boundary is the River Avon,  Odstock to the east is only approached
via  Downton directly south.   Whiteparish is directly east.

Alton is the parish containing Alton Barnes with Alton Priors, featuring to the north,
Alton Barnes White Horse, cut into Milk Hill in 1812.

in which Milk Hill rises to 295 metres (968 ft) above sea level, the highest point in Wiltshire.

Ansty is a village in south west Wiltshire, immediately west of  Swallowcliffe, north
of the A30 taking road traffic east towards  Shaftesbury.
Ansty parish stretches south of the A30 to Alvediston before  Berwick St John further south west.

Atworth is a village on the A365 between  Box and  Melksham.
The northern boundary of the parish Atworth follows the remains of a Roman road from
Silchester to Bath, with  Corsham parish to the north.
Atworth parish extends south of the village to include the hamlet of Little Chalfield and the
village of Great Chalfield, north of  Holt, where  Broughton Gifford is to the east.

Avebury is parish administered by Wiltshire Council, 6 miles west of Marlborough.
Within the parish the postal addresses refer to the towns of Calne and Chippenham.
The village of Avebury is north of the A4 main road from Marlborough to Calne,
and traffic passes through the village from Devizes in the south taking the A4361 to Swindon.
Although now a rural village, it was once the centre of a primitive race, and its archaeological remains
attract visitors, especially the UNESCO World Heritage site for “Stonehenge, Avebury and Associated Sites”

Barford St Martin is a village north of the A30 west of  Wilton and east of  Fovant.
North of the River Nadder, the B3089 leads west to  Dinton.
North of the village Barford Down rises to Grovely Wood which conceals the remains of Grim's Ditch and a Roman road.

Baydon is the most north eastern parish administered by Wiltshire Council, before the unitary authority boundary
with  Swindon at Wanborough parish, where the M4 motorway passes to the north east of Baydon village.
The eastern parish boundary councides with the unitary authority boundary with West Berkshire at  Lambourn.
The rural area to the south east features the Iron Age hill fort of Membury, giving its name to the M4 services.

Berwick St John is a village and parish on the northern edge of Cranborne Chase in the west of Wiltshire,

Bishops Cannings is a village east of the A361, north east of  Devizes, from  Avebury in the north east.
Bishops Cannings parish is in the Vale of Pewsey, with Roundway Hill to the north west,
featuring the Devizes Millennium White Horse, cut in 1999.
At the south of the parish, the Kennet and Avon Canal wind round the base of hills from  All Cannings in
the east, almost encirling the hamlet of Horton before entering Roundway parish north of Devizes.
Little Horton and Coate are within the parish to the south before Etchilhampton.

Bowerchalk­e is a village, on the north edge of Cranborne Chase in the west of Wiltshire.

of  Pentridge and  Sixpenny Handley, where the A354 leads to Hampshire at Martin

Box

This category represents the parish of Box, which besides the large village of this name, stretches east
to include Box Hill, rising on the east bank of By Brook, and Rudloe, west of  Corsham.
The parish western boundary coincides with the unitary authority boundary with  Bath & NES at  Batheaston,
on the A4 road through Box from the north of Corsham.
Box parish includes Kingsdown south of By Brook, with Middlehill and Ditteridge to the north before  Colerne.
From the A4 at Box, the A365 road leads south east through  Atworth
on the way to  Melksham further south east.
The parish south of Kingsdown is  Monkton Farleigh, which also represents
South Wraxall, the parish to the south east, before Atworth.

Broad Chalke, sometimes spelled Broadchalke, Broad Chalk or Broadchalk, is a village and civil parish in
south Wiltshire, and includes the hamlets of Knapp, Mount Sorrel and Stoke Farthing.
Bower Chalke parish separates Broad Chalke from the border with north East Dorset at  Pentridge.

Bromham is a village, which with the hamlet of Westbrook is on the A3102 road east of  Melksham,
before it joins the A342, south of  Chippenham and north of  Devizes.
Bromham parish is directly north west of  Rowde.

Burbage is a village bypaassed to the west by the A346, taking road traffic south from  Marlborough to join the A338
south of the village, which continues south through  Tidworth to join the A303 at  Cholerton.
The A338 comes from the east through East Grafton in the neighbouring  Grafton parish.
At this roundabout, the B3087 leads west to  Pewsey, passing first through Easton,
before Milton Lilbourne.

The north of Burbage parish includes the Kennet and Avon Canal.
North east of the hamlet of Stibb Green, the canal passes under Bruce Tunnel, where a minor road connects the hamlet

Great Bedwyn is the neighbouring parish on the canal's north bank, west of Crofton Locks.
on the north west tip of Grafton parish.

Burcombe is a village south of the A30 west of  Wilton and east of  Barford St Martin.
The main village is south of the River Nadder, but a bridge links to the A30 at North Burcombe, and
the church is north of this and south of the railway line.
The parish of Burcombe Without continues up the hill to the north to Great Wishford parish, and
south of the village the parish rises up the hill to  Bishopstone parish.
The hamlet of Bulbridge downstream, south of the Nadder provides the nearest primary school, but is in Wilton parish.

Castle Combe is a village nestled in a valley through which Broadmead Brook flows in the Cotswolds AONB in north west Wiltshire.
Castle Combe parish includes Upper Castle Combe uphill to the west.
The plateau to the south east of the parish is home for motorsports, before  Yatton Keynell on the B4039 road.
Broadmead Brook flows to the south of the parish at the village of Ford on the A420, which leads to

Castle Eaton is a civil parish in the Swindon unitary authority, north west of  Highworth on the boundary
of Wiltshire Council at Latton and  Marston Maisey.
The northern parish boundary is the Isis part of the  River Thames, with the 
Cotswold district of Gloucestershire at Kempsford south of  Fairford, and forming the
northern boundary of Swindon unitary authority into Oxfordshire.
The hamlet of Hannington Wick is to the south east, in the parish of Hannington before Highworth,
