Flintshire is the most north eastern unitary authority of Wales on the border with  Chester,
West Cheshire and The Wirral.
Wrexham, formerly part of Flintshire now forms a separate County Borough, to the south.
Denbighshire is the unitary authority to the west, with
its north coast resort of  Prestatyn on the boundary

Bagillt

Bagillt Council, population around 4,000, consists of a series of villages, along the south bank of the Dee Estuary,
between  Flint and  Greenfield, served by the A548.
Bagillt Council has its boundary with  Hollywell, inland along the A5026 to the north west.

Buckley is a town, population around 16,000, east of  Mold and the River Alyn.

Caerwys

Caerwys is a town in west Flintshire, and Caerwys Council, population around 10,000, which has a border
with Denbighshire, over the Clwydian Range, at   Tremeirchion Council, to the west,
with   Aberwheeler and   Llandyrnog to the south, separated by the A541.
The Flintshire community council of Ysceifiog is to the east, represented
by the  Lixwm locality category.
The A55 crosses the north of the council, with  Whitford to the north.

Deeside

Deeside is the name given to the conurbation of towns and villages along the mouth of the River Dee,
where it has been industrialised from the original marsh land and docks.

Ewloe is a small town, population around 5,000, which is included in the council for  Hawarden to the west.
This category includes websites for the area where the A494 from  Shotton and  Queensferry
in the north east, meets the A55 from Broughton and  Penyffordd in the south east,
heading north west, north of  Buckley.
The largest conurbation is St David's Park to the east of the A55/A494 interchange, but this

Holywell

Holywell is a market town, named after a holy well known from the Roman occupancy, but later dedicated to St Winefride,
and marketed as the Lourdes of Wales.
Holywell is a council area, which is given as the postal town for villages in the area, providing a total population around 9,000.
From lead mining, copper and cotton milling industries, along the valley to the north east of the town,
a port on the Dee Estuary was developed, now served by the  Greenfield locality category.
Along the A5026 to the east is the council for  Bagillt
The A5026 south east of Holywell leads to the  Halkyn locality category.
Brynford is to the south west, and the A5026 to the north west leads

Hope

Lixym is the largest conurbation in the Ysceifiog Council, population around 1,300.
Ysceifiog Council stretches across Ysceifiog Lake, west towards  Caerwys,
and is separated in the south from  Nannerch by the A541.
The hamlet of Bebell is within the north boundary of Ysceifiog Council, so websites for Bebell are included here,
but those for further north of Lixwm, are included in the  Brynford locality category,
whereas those to the east of Lixwm, are included in the  Halkyn locality category.

Llanasa

Llanasa is the council that administers the northern tip of Flintsshire, from the south bank of the Dee Estuary at Ffynnongrowy,
north west to the lighthouse at Talacre, and west along Gronant Dunes.
Gronant is the most north western village in Flintshire, before  Prestanyn in  Denbeighshire.
Set south of the A548, east of Gronant and south of Talacre is the village of Gwespyr, with the village of Llanasa south of these.
Directly south of Llanasa is Axton, with the villages of Trelogan and Berthengam to the east, before the councils of 
Mostyn to the Dee Estuary and  Whitford south east.
The hamlets of Gwaenysgor and Trelawnyd, with the A5151 leading west across the county boundary to  Dyserth.
The boundary runs south east, including some remains of Offa's Dyke, along the A5151 to Pen-ffordd-llan,
Lloc and Gorsedd, where websites are included in the Whitford Council category.

Llanfynydd

Pen y ffordd is the Welsh for "head of the road", and occurs elswhere in Wales, such as the hamlet of
Pen-y-ffordd in the  Mostyn Council category.

on the east boundary of Flintshire, including Kinnerton Green
