Voroklini is a rural village 8km to the north-east of the centre of Larnaca on the south-eastern Cyprus coast. It is about 50m above sea level at the foot of an oblong hill (208m high). The monastery of Agios Georgios tou Mavrovouniou (St. George of the Black Hill) lies to the north. To the west is Livadia (1.5km), to the north-west is Troulloi and to the north-east is Pyla (3km). The official name of the village is Voroklini, however most of the non-Greek speaking inhabitants, along with those conected with the tourist industry, refer to it as Oroklini village. Voroklini has evolved substantially over the past few years. The population of the village has nearly trebbled in the past two decades with many overseas visitors making Voroklini their permanent home.

Xylofagou is a sprawling village situated close to the A3 Motorway between close to the border of Famagusta district, on the edge of an area of a group of several similar villages known as the Kokkinochoria (red [earth] area) known for growing vegetables, especially potatoes. Xylo is Hellenic meaning 'wood' and a Fagou is an extremely popular barbecue-style spit roast used on holidays and high-days for cooking Souvlakia - a special Greek dish - amongst others.
