California's deserts -- the high Mojave desert in the north and the low Colorado desert in the south -- are lands of extremes: heat and cold, bright light and deep shadows.

This region is noted for the desert resorts near Palm Springs, Joshua Tree National Park, the Anza-Borrego Desert, Imperial Valley/Colorado River Valley, Mojave National Preserve, the Barstow Area, the Mojave/Ridgecrest Area, and Death Valley.

Sites that span multiple counties in the Desert region should be submitted to this category. This includes guides with information for multiple counties, or businesses with locations in more than one county. Sites that cover only a single locality or county should be submitted to the category for that locality or county.
Antelope Valley includes portions of northern Los Angeles County and southeastern Kern County, and forms the western tip of the Mojave Desert. It lies between the Tehachapi Mountains and the San Gabriel Mountains.
This category is for sites about the Antelope Valley, not located in the Antelope Valley. Listings may include guides, regional history, scholarly/scientific or professional studies, certain municipality organizations, and other sites of interest across the entire region.

Businesses, churches, and local organizations should not submit to this category, but to the appropriate locality in which they are located.

This category is for sites offering online maps, photographs, satellite images, and live web cams of the Deserts Region.
Please submit only sites that cover either all of the Deserts Region or more than one County within it.

For sites of wider interest, see the Southern California: Maps and Views category.

For sites of more local interest, see the individual Counties or Localities categories.

Please submit your site to the most specific level at which it fits.
