This area in the northeast corner of California is volcanic in origin, and is known for Mount Shasta and Lassen Peak. Mount Shasta is currently inactive, but Lassen erupted between 1914 and 1921.

The region includes the counties of Lassen, Modoc, Shasta, and Siskiyou.

Sites that span multiple counties in the Shasta Cascade region should be submitted to this category. This includes guides with information for multiple counties, or businesses with locations in more than one county. Sites that cover only a single locality or county should be submitted to the category for that locality or county.

This is Northern California, and it's gorgeous. Much of the area is mountainous and provides spectacular views of Mt. Shasta, Mt. Lassen, and vast expanses of wilderness areas. It also has many beautiful lakes (Shasta, Whiskytown, and Trinity); rivers (Sacramento, McCloud, and Trinity), and streams. Popular activities are Hiking and Backpacking, Mountain Climbing, and Fishing.
