Region 3 comprises Koochiching, Itasca, Aitkin, St. Louis, Lake, Cook, and Carlton Counties. The Iron Range is partly in the Arrowhead region, with some spillover into Cass and Crow Wing Counties in north central Minnesota.
Region 7W comprises Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, and Wright Counties. It includes all of the St. Cloud Metro Area, and part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metro Area.
Region 7E comprises Mille Lacs, Kanabec, Pine, Isanti, and Chisago Counties.
Region 2 comprises Lake of the Woods, Beltrami, Clearwater, Mahnomen, and Hubbard Counties. The Northwest Angle is part of Lake of the Woods County.
Region 6E comprises Kandiyohi, Meeker, Renville, and McLeod Counties.
Region 1, in northwest Minnesota, comprises Kittson, Roseau, Marshall, Polk, Pennington, Red Lake, and Norman Counties.
Region 5 comprises Cass, Wadena, Crow Wing, Todd, and Morrison Counties. The Cuyuna Range is in Crow Wing County, and part of the Iron Range is also in Cass County.
Region 10 comprises Rice, Goodhue, Wabasha, Steele, Dodge, Olmsted, Winona, Freeborn, Mower, Fillmore, and Houston Counties.
Region 8 comprises Lincoln, Lyon, Redwood, Pipestone, Murray, Cottonwood, Rock, Nobles, and Jackson Counties.
Region 9 comprises Sibley, Brown, Nicollet, Le Sueur, Watonwan, Blue Earth, Waseca, Martin, and Faribault Counties.
Minnesota's Twin Cities are, of course, Minneapolis and St. Paul. But to Minnesotans, "Twin Cities" or just "the Cities" includes the suburbs as well. Region 11, as defined in state law, comprises Anoka, Hennepin, Ramsey, Washington, Carver, Scott, and Dakota Counties.
Region 6W comprises Big Stone, Swift, Lac Qui Parle, Chippewa, and Yellow Medicine Counties.
Region 4 comprises Clay, Becker, Wilkin, Otter Tail, Traverse, Grant, Douglas, Stevens, and Pope Counties.
