Vale, located on the Malheur River at the point where the wagons using the Oregon Trail crossed the river, is the county seat of Malheur County. Vale is located 75 miles west of Boise, Idaho.
Incorporated in 1962, the City of Veneta is located 12 miles west of Eugene/Springfield.
Established in 1891, Vernonia was a logging community in the scenic Nehalem River Valley. Logging is still an important part of the region and has retained much of its turn of the century charm.
Located in Lane County, the town was named after Vida Pepiot, daughter of the postmaster.
