Topics include climate change (or global warming), atmospheric C02, stratospheric ozone, desertification, and change indicators.
This category leads to websites specifically about conferences held to discuss the effects and possible mitigation of climate change.

Please suggest websites only about meetings on the scientific aspects of climate change.

Desertification is a man-made or natural process of degrading arable land into that which has such poor soil that farming is not possible or is nearly impossible. Human causes include over-farming, leveling forests for farm land or urban development, and the use of river dams. Natural causes include climate change toward less yearly rainfall, and erosion caused by water, wind or gravity.
This category includes scientific topics about the change from soil that is suited for farming to land that cannot be reasonably used in such a manner.

Websites that cover the topic of prediciting drought should be submitted to Science/Earth_Sciences/Meteorology/Weather_Phenomena/Drought

Webpages that discuss preserving current desert ecosystems to preserve habitats should be placed in Society/Issues/Environment/Conservation_and_Endangered_Species/Ecosystems_and_Habitats/Deserts.

The effects and influences of climate change are transmitted through air, land, water, animal and plant life, and human health. Evidence of ecological impacts - gathered by observation, modeling and experimentation - is provided by indicators that measure things such as temperature, precipitation, storms, sea levels, atmospheric ozone, crop yields, human health, and the appearance, behavior and abundance of insects, birds, and animals in the wild. "Indicators are designed to provide clear signals about something of interest. Indicators communicate information about the status of things, and, when recorded over time, can yield valuable information about changes or trends. The values of an indicator over time can inform decisions about whether intervention is desirable or necessary, which of various interventions might yield the best results, and how successful interventions have been. Indicators therefore can and should guide policy and help direct research." Commission on Geosciences, Environment and Resources (CGER)
Please submit only sites that are devoted to assessing the effects and evidence (impacts and indicators) of climate change, on a global and regional scale, from a scientific perspective.

Sites that focus on the collection, interpretation and dissemination of data about the environment, or on devices for environmental sampling and monitoring, should be submitted to the appropriate category under: Environmental Monitoring.

This category is for sites where governmental agencies, research institutes, companies or individuals offer consultancy services such as technical support and expertise.
Please submit your site to the most appropriate category. Submitting to an incorrect category may delay review of your site.
Please submit only websites that have English language content to this category. If your site is in a language other than English, please submit it to the appropriate category of World.
Mostly academic institutions tracking or studying changes in the world's climate patterns.
Also see subcategories for specific topics such as policy, environmental impacts, and modelling.
