On July 20, 1969, Buzz Aldrin, with Neil Armstrong, made their historic Apollo XI moon walk, thus becoming the
first two humans to set foot on another world.
James A. Lovell piloted Gemini 7, commanded Gemini 12, orbited the moon on Apollo 8 and commanded the aborted Apollo 13 moon flight.
Lovell was born March 15, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio, and died August 7, 2025 at age 93 of natural causes.
