The principal parties the North Vietnam and the Vietcong on one side, and the United States and South Vietnam on the other. This war is known in Vietnam today as the 'American War'.

World War I

World War I (a.k.a. the Great War or the First World War) was waged from 1914-1918 between the Allies (Great Britain, France, Belgium, Russia, the United States, Italy, etc.) and the Central Powers (Germany, Austria-Hungary, etc.), and formally ended in 1919, with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles.
