This category lists sites that deal with issues related to economic sanctions.
Cuba is an island country off the coast of Florida, United States. US policy since the onset of the 1960s has been an economic embargo against Cuba, ostensibly aimed at ending the communist leadership of Cuba. The economic sanctions include sending money or goods to family or friends in Cuba, making charitable donations, spending money in Cuba, and doing business with Cuban companies. The policy has been debated for more than forty years. Web sites that provide information about the issues without necessarily taking a position belong in this primary category. There is a subcategory for each of the opposing views.
Please submit web sites that pertain to Sanctions on Cuba at this level, unless you are clear that the site is for the embargo or opposed to the embargo, in which case you may submit it one category below this one in either Against or For.
Sanctions on Iraq are the prohibition and prevention of goods and services and trade, connecting to or reaching Iraq from other parts of the world. The society issue involved here has to do with the human (or environmental or other) difficulties such as unattended medical problems (unable to get medicines and supplies), lack of food and safe drinking water (i.e., unable to obtain water treatment goods or services) and so on.
Open Directory Project strives for balance in posting sites and views and opposing views. Ones that are in English are welcomed in Society and related categories.
