Randy Pausch was a professor of Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction and Design at Carnegie Mellon University. He co-founded the school's Entertainment Technology Center, did sabbaticals at Walt Disney Imagineering and Electronic Arts, was the director of the Alice software project, and consulted with Google on user interface design. He was the author or co-author of six books and over 70 articles. Randy Pausch, widely known for his "last lecture," died July 25, 2008 of complications from pancreatic cancer.
