Pages of individual people or families, not organizations, making a personal appeal for help, usually for money, but possibly for a bone marrow donor or something similar. These can be people who have been hurt by diseases, natural disasters, family crises, or simply poverty. The Open Directory cannot guarantee that any appeals listed in this category are genuine or legitimate. Some may be, some may not be.

Submit once only in the most appropriate category. Multiple submissions may result in your site not being listed or removed.

Please submit a brief description of the site outlining why you are asking for help and the contents of your site in no more than two sentences.

Please understand that you must have a web site to be listed here, and not just an email address.

No commercial submissions of any kind are accepted. Any commercial sites submitted here will be treated as spam.

Arts

Collecting funding for the Arts in general, including visual arts, theater, film-making, music and other expressions of creativity.

Business Startups

For individuals looking for business angels or donors to start small businesses. Primarily for donors rather than investors.

Sites should be kept up to date with progress reports. Out-of-date sites may be removed. The Open Directory reserves the right not to list any site it feels is inappropriate.

Debt Reduction

Appeals for money to pay off credit cards, loans and other debts. The Open Directory cannot guarantee that any appeals listed in this category are genuine or legitimate. Some may be, some may not be.

Sites should be updated regularly and ideally list donors. Sites that are not updated may be removed. This category is for individuals requesting help, organisations seeking help and businesses offering debt services will not be listed.

Education

Requests for money for educational purposes, such as college fees, school projects or other requests to do with supporting learning.

Hardship Relief

Requests for help with the relief of poverty or hardship, but not for the debt reduction, medical expenses or educational needs.

Sites should be regularly updated with progress and/or donors. Sites that are not updated may be deleted.

Legal Expenses

Seeking help for legal expenses, appeals, court cases or other law-related needs.

For people seeking help only. Submissions from law firms, or any organisation or individual seeking legal business will be deleted.

Make Me Rich

For donations and help with becoming rich, buying luxuries or other things that are not strictly necessary but nice to have.

Sites should be updated regularly with donations and/or donor lists. Sites that are not updated may be deleted.

Medical Needs

For those sites that are critical of cyber-panhandling and online begging.

Platforms

Sites that primary list other cyberbegging or donation sites, without necessarily seeking donations themselves.

For assistance sought with the upkeep, purchase or expenses relating to property and accommodation.

Relocation and Migration

For those seeking funds or assistance to relocate within one country or to migrate to a different country.
