Bernardino da Feltra was an Italian Franciscan who died in 1494. He is best remembered for monti di pietà , which were to lend to the poor at low interest rates.

Some of his flesh reportedly was incorrupt for at least a century, and witnesses testified to the liquefaction of his blood as late as 1852.
As a young man, Filippo Latino was quick to draw the sword, and was called "the finest blade in Sicily." He joined the Capuchins and took the name Bernardo. He died in 1667.
