In the 1876, they became one of the charter members of the fledging National League. In 1953, the club relocated to Milwaukee. In 1966, the Braves moved to Atlanta. The Boston Braves won the World Series in 1914 beating the Philadelphia A's 4 games to 0. In 1957, the Milwaukee Braves won the World Series over the New York Yankees, 4 games to 3. The Atlanta Braves won the World Series in 1995, beating the Cleveland Indians 4 games to 2.

The Orioles can trace their lineage to 1901, where they were a charter member of the American League as the Milwaukee Brewers. The club moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1902 and were renamed the St. Louis Browns. In 1954, the club relocated to Baltimore and were rechristened the Baltimore Orioles. The Baltimore Orioles won the World Series in 1966, 1970 and 1983.

American League franchise began in 1901 as the Milwaukee Browns. Was in St. Louis from 1902-1953, when owner Bill Veeck sold the team to a Baltimore group that moved the club and renamed it the Orioles. The Browns usually played in the second division, but managed one trip to the World Series (1944), where they played the hometown rival Cardinals in the "Subway Series," the only Series played in one stadium (Sportsman's Park). The Browns also had midget pinch hitter Eddie Gaedel, fading Negro League star Satchel Paige, and a host of other notable or ignoble players in their fifty years in St. Louis.

In September 2004, the Montreal Expos were officially moved to Washington, DC. In November, 2004 the Washington club was given the nickname Nationals. The Washington Nationals name was first used by various clubs from the 1850's to the 1880's. In the early 20th century, the nicknames Nationals and Senators were used interchangeably for the same American League club.
