Dick Bruna was born in the summer of 1927, in Utrecht, Netherlands. He is a creator of picture books and his most important character is Miffy (1955):
"The bunny pair were overjoyed
Quite soon the baby came,
With ears so long, and fur so white -
And Miffy was her name."
