Byron (Gabriel Byrne), the Shelleys (Julian Sands and
Natasha Richardson), and Dr Polidori (Timothy Spall) spend a weekend thinking up ghost stories.
They have fertile imaginations, later demonstrated by Polidori's creation of The Vampyre, which inspired the character Count Dracula, and Mary's creation of Frankenstein. Both were inspired that weekend.
