Violence sets the tone for this stark portrayal of two friends on the edge in South Central LA. Bitterly disillusioned when he is turned down for a job with the LAPD, Jim David (as played by Christian Bale) coerces his friend to join him on a desperate rampage of stealing, drug taking and deceit.
