Elizabeth (Liv Ullmann) is an actress who stops speaking in the middle of a play, and will not speak again. A psychiatrist thinks it might help if Elizabeth and Nurse Alma (Bibi Andersson) spend the summer at her isolated house. This 1966 artistic psychological drama was written and directed by Ingmar Bergman.
