Mia (Hathaway), a 16-year-old San Franciscan, suddenly discovers that the father she never knew was royalty, and now she is the sole heir to the throne of a small European country. With the help of her newfound grandmother (Andrews), Mia must learn to act like a princess.

If the movie is determined to be this dimwitted, couldn't it at least move a little more quickly? The metronome is set too slow, as if everyone is acting and thinking in half-time.
