Starring Charles Laughton, the movie tells the story of King Henry VIII of England, and his many wives. Laughton won the Academy Award for Best Actor. Anne Boleyn is Merle Oberon, and Anne of Cleves is played by Elsa Lanchester. The Private Life of Henry VIII is a 1933 film. It was written by Lajos BirĂ³ and Arthur Wimperis, and directed by Sir Alexander Korda.
