English Two-Tone ska revival outfit, known as The English Beat in the USA due to a name conflict with another band. (The Beat, aka Paul Collins' Beat, were from California.) Former members went on to form the bands General Public and Fine Young Cannibals. Also, several former members have toured with some members of The Specials under the name The Special Beat, performing the hits of both bands.
