Arno Babadjanian (1921-1983) both increased the Westernization of Armenian music and preserved its heritage and influence, especially as a teacher. His work in this area may have been strongly influenced by one of his own teachers, Heinrich Litinsky. Two of his most popular works are the Heroic Ballade for piano and orchestra and the Armenian Rhapsody for two pianos.
