Wilhelm Friedemann Bach (1710-1784) was eldest son of J. S. Bach and first wife Maria Barbara. An accomplished organist, keyboard pieces and cantatas form the largest part of his body of work. He moved back and forth between his father's Baroque style and the newer Rococo style. Exercise of his abilities was marred by apparent sloth and a serious drinking problem.
