British composer Lennox Randall Francis Berkeley (1903-1989) established a large and varied output, including operas, orchestral works, and songs. With a twenty-two year tenure at the Royal Academy of Music, Berkeley also influenced scores of younger composers and musicians, much as he had earlier been influenced by Nadia Boulanger.
