Henry Brant (1913- ) is known primarily for his use of space in music by positioning performers in various places in the performance venue. He has also been very experimental in his selection of instruments for large ensembles, for instance 80 trombones and organ in Orbits. He won the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for Ice Field.
