Hungarian composer Gábor Darvas (1911-1985) was one of his nation's first electronic composers while his musicological interests (with studies under Zoltán Kodály) took him to the 15th and 16th Centuries. While he wrote some early works in the 1930s, his compositional career fully began only after the Second World War. Darvas was also a noted conductor.
