Irish composer Arthur Knox Duff (1899-1956) wrote a ballet, music to Yeats' poetry and plays, and various orchestral works. He was also himself a singer, organist, and accomplished conductor. He worked as Assistant Music Director for Radio Éireann and promoted younger musicians, conductors, and composers. He received his Doctorate from Trinity College, Dublin in 1942.
