Austrian composer HK (Heinz Karl) Gruber (1943-) also starred as conductor, singer, and musical theatre performer. He often sang the lead in his own piece Frankenstein!!. His black humor often influences his compositions. Besides Frankenstein!!, Gruber's noted works include two violin concertos and the Cello Concerto for Yo-Yo Ma.
