Garage was one of the founding styles of 1960s rock and roll music. It was mostly based in America, where countless teenagers would practice in their parents' garages - the garage being the place where parents could get rid of the awful din the bands made. Of course, not all were failures; some of the most famous garage groups were The Kingsmen, Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs, ? (Question Mark) and the Mysterians, Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Troggs, and The Kinks.
