This category houses both professional and fan pages devoted to the actor Maurice Chevalier. Film and vaudeville actor. Born in Paris, France on 12th September 1888. He began performing as a child in small cafes, and from 1909-13, he danced at the Folies Bergères. His first Hollywood film was The Innocents of Paris (1929), and his noteworthy films include The Love Parade (1929) and The Big Pond (1930), for which he received several Oscar nominations; as well as Billy Wilder's Love in the Afternoon (1957), with Audrey Hepburn and Gary Cooper; and the musical Gigi (1958). He received a Honorary Academy Award in 1959. Chevalier died of cardiac arrest following kidney surgery on 1st January 1972.
