Gregory Hines was born February 14, 1946, in New York, New York, USA. Actor and accomplished tap dancer, with many of his films featuring his dancing. He grew up as a member of "Hines, Hines, and Dad" with his father and brother, Maurice, in a popular tap dancing act. Hines' own entertaining stage show, where he sang, danced, and performed had taken him from New York to Las Vegas to Monte Carlo. He won a Tony in 1992 for "Jelly's Last Jam" and appeared as the host of the Tony's in 2002. Gregory Hines died, August 9, 2003, at the age of 57 years.
