John Spencer was born in New York City in 1946. He began his television career with a recurring role on "The Patty Duke Show." Since then he has appeared on stage, in films such as "The Rock" (1996) and "Cop Land" (1997), and on television in "LA Law," "Trinity," and "The West Wing."
