Romala Garai - English actress, born 1982. She was brought up in Singapore and Hong Kong until the age of 10. She has performed in many plays in school and used to sing in a jazz band, but Romola's long term ambitions lie in directing and writing for the theatre. While studying for her A Levels, a casting agent scouting at her school for young girls, chose Romola to play a young version of Judi Dench in the BBC film 'Last Of The Blonde Bombshells' (2000). Other roles include BBC TV 'Daniel Deronda' (2002), 'Nicholas Nickleby' (2002) and the lead role in the movie 'I Capture the Castle' (2003).
