Greer Garson (1904 London, UK - 1996 Dallas, TX) was born as Eileen Evelyn Greer Garson. She made her debut 1937 in English TV film "Twelfth Night". 1939 she signed a contract with MGM and began her career in the States. Her famous roles include Katherine Chipping in "Goodbye, Mr. Chips" (1939), Elizabeth Bennet in "Pride and Prejudice" (1940), Edna Gladney in "Blossoms in the Dust" (1941), Kay Miniver in "Mrs. Miniver" (1942), and Marie Curie in "Marie Curie" (1943), to mention some only. She was seen on screen till the end of 1970s, but she did not take any big parts after the role of Mrs. Cordelia Biddle in "The Happiest Millionaire" (1967).
