He was born December 26th, 1791 in Teignmouth, Devonshire and died October 18th, 1871, London.
He is most famous for his ideas about building an "analytical engine", the predecessor of the digital computer.
He was a graduate of Cambridge University, and later held the Lucasian Chair of Mathematics there.
