GNATS is the GNU, or Free Software Foundation,
Open Source, freely redistributable, bug tracking system.
The name, like GNU itself, is a recursive acronym,
GNats: A Tracking System. For a short time it was known as PRMS, the GNU Problem Report Management System, but now it is again called GNATS. It is in production use by many companies and free software products.
