Dyspepsia is discomfort often described as indigestion, gaseousness, fullness, or gnawing or burning pain localized to the upper abdomen or chest that has no specific cause or diagnostic evaluation. Dyspepsia is very common.
Dyspeptic symptoms may indicate cardiac ischemia (in which exertion increases the discomfort), GERD, gastritis or peptic ulcer disease, or cholecystitis.
