Yom Kippur is the holiest day in the Jewish religion. Fasting is required, except for females under age 12 and males under age 13. There are exceptions made for those who are ill or pregnant; this is usually discussed with a rabbi. Because there is no cooking or eating on this day, the category here only provides links to other categories about the holiday. Also please note that although we have linked to the category about Fasting and Cleansing, the practice of fasting on Yom Kippur is unrelated to health aspects of fasting.
