This category lists pages and sites that tell about the life of American author Scott O'Dell (1898-1989). Known primarily for his children's works, O'Dell began writing for publication in 1934. He did not author his first work for children until 1950, however.

O'Dell received the Newbery Medal for Island of the Blue Dolphins and Newbery Honor recognition for three of his other books. He also established the Scott O'Dell Award for Historical Fiction in 1981. The award is granted annually to a work for children or teens that is set in North America and written by a United States citizen.
