Popular 1960s BBC sitcom about two rag and bone merchants, starring Wilfrid Brambell and Harry H. Corbett. Written by Ray Galton and Alan Simpson. First broadcast (pilot episode) on BBC 1 in January 1962.


Two film adaptations were released in 1972 and 1974.

An American version named "Sanford and Son" ran from 1972 to 1979, featuring Redd Foxx as the widower Fred G. Sanford, and Demond Wilson as the adult son Lamont Sanford. Together the characters ran a junkyard in Watts, Los Angeles, California.

Also, versions were released in the Netherlands as "Stephen en zoon", in Portugal as "Camilo & Filho", in South Africa as "Snetherswaite and Son", and in Sweden as "Albert & Herbert".
