"The Lakes" is a drama about a drifter and compulsive gambler from Liverpool called Danny (John Simm), who moves to a small village in the Lake District to marry Emma (Emma Cunniffe). He finds trouble being accepted into Emma's devoutly Catholic family, and matters get much worse when he becomes involved in a drowning accident with four local children.
