Amersham is located in the  south east of Buckinghamshire, 27 miles north west of  London.
There are two distinct parts of Amersham, the picturesque and historic Old Town, situated on
the River Chess and the New Town, which is a mile distant at the top of Amersham Hill, has
flourished since the arrival of the Metropolitan underground line in the early 20th century.
