- Since April 2009, the county of Cornwall is administered as a unitary authority, with its politics derived
- from the other Celtic nations, like Wales, but without its own devolved Assemby status.
- The county is represented at UK Government level by Members of Parliament for six constituents:
- Camborne & Redruth,
- North Cornwall
- South East Cornwall,
- St Austell & Newquay,
- St Ives (including Silly),
- Truro & Falmouth

- Before the 2009 Cornwall Council with its headquarters in Truro, there were five districts:
- Penwith, Kerrier, Carrick, Caradon and North Cornwall, and
- the Restormel Borough, all now redundant.
