Roche, population around 3000, is named after Roche Rock, a granite outcrop east of the village, in mid-Cornwall.
The main A30 road runs through the parish, north of the main conurbation, with St Ervan, St Merryn
and St Ween to the north, before  St Columb further west.
St Dennis parish is directly west, with china clay works in the hills to the south.
Trezaise is a linear settlement along the B3274 road before Stenalees in Treverbyn parish to the south east,
where websites are represented by St Austell.
Bugle is a settlement to the east, on the A391 road north of St Austell, in Treverbyn parish before
Luxulyan parish further east, where websites are represented by Bodmin.
