Cornworthy is north west of Dittisham, on the south bank of the Dart estuary, which separates it from the South Hams parish of Stoke Gabriel.  To the north is the parish of Ashprington which separates it from the South Hams town of Totnes, also on the tidal region of the River Dart.  To the west is the combined parish of Halwell and Moreleigh, and directly south is Blackawton.
