Ashmore is village around 220 metres above sea level in North Dorset, on the boundary with the
Wiltshire parish of  Tollard Royal on Cranborne Chase.
Melbury Abbas is north west on the B3081 road, and  Compton Abbas is to the west over Fontmell Down,
just north of Fontmell Magna, then Sutton Waldron, before  Iwerne Minster further south.
Farnham is south east over Cranborne Chase, before  Sixpenny Handley.
