- Motcombe is a village and North Dorset parish, immediately north west of Shaftesbury, with Gillingham and
- East Stour to the west, and south east of Silton.
- The eastern parish boundary is with the county of Wiltshire at the combined parish of Sedgehill and Semley south of Mere.
- Hills in the east of the parish enclose the village in the eastern edge of the Blackmore Vale.
- The River Lodden forms the northern parish boundary, as it flows south west to join the Stour, south of Gillingham.
